ProBuilt America - It's All About Trust
While working for that other company, I recognized the need for better customer service and attention to profit and loss on individual jobs. In order to better serve my customers, I gained my general contractors license in February of 2002 and launched ProBuilt America. I did well in 2002, but had to work like crazy since I was sales, production and service all in one person. ProBuilt America was incorporated in Minnesota in October of 2002 as ProBuilt America, Inc. Federal trademark applications for name usage and logo have been approved with the U.S. Patents and Trademark office. After a while I saw the need for non-weather related remodeling services, So I began researching franchise opportunities in the remodeling industry. After contacting and making a five day trip to Window World Inc. in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, I decided to add more substantial window replacement services to my offerings. So, I purchased the exclusive license for the marketing and supply rights for the Twin Cities Metro and greater Minnesota area. In 2003 I opened Window World Twin Cities in the old Luger Lumber yard building in North St. Paul. These were pretty humble beginnings. But I was proud to be the last tenant before the lumber yard buidling was demolished to make way for the new city hall. So in June we moved over to the old animal hospital. It’s gone now too. Highway 36 expansions did it in. Because the business was growing so dramaticlly I aquired the land where we are now. In 2004 I became a developer and built a small shopping center with a business partner. We tried to give it a home town feeling. We get alot of compliments on it. It looks like an old downtown that you might see in small town America. There’s two retail store fronts one for Window World and one for ProBuilt America. I’m not just by myself anymore either. Now we have a full staff of seven office workers, six salesman, six window install crews, several factory installed siding crews and a LeafProof gutter installer. In 2005 we opened Window World St. Cloud to better serve our customers in the Northern corridor. We have an office manager and a sales/production manager up there. We’d be happy to have you as a customer. About 47% of our business is repeat and referral business. I guess we must be doing something right. Growing up on a farm in Northwestern Minnesota gives you a lot of skills you appreciate later in life. Like the time I helped my Grandpa tear down this old pink house and help him build a new one when I was 13. Or helping with the remodeling of our kitchen and building a machine shed on the farm when I was a kid. And travelling to Alaska and building homes when I was 19. I’ve been blessed with an interesting and varied background so after 20 years in various forms of construction, related trades and unrelated trades, I founded ProBuilt America. Originally, a remodeling sales company I provided storm damage sales to local customers for other contractors. Services included siding, roofing, windows and rain gutters. I sold more than $1.6 million in remodeling sales from April through December in 2001.
